Why I make Family Films
Hi I’m Mayumi!
I often wonder… what can I leave behind for my son if I’m not here one day? Money? Sure. But more than that, I want to leave him love—something he can hold onto, something he can feel.
My dad left me a DVD, filmed by my uncle. It shows our whole family together. I don’t have my dad anymore, but when I watch that film, I can still hear his voice. I can still feel his warmth, his love. That’s the kind of memory I want to leave for my son.
Every night, I tuck him into bed, give him a big hug, and tell him how much I love him. Our life is made up of everyday little things—breakfast chats, tantrums in the kitchen, bedtime routines. These small moments shape our relationships, our rhythms, and our memories.
I want to capture that. I want to show him what our life together looked like—and why it mattered. Because in the middle of all the chaos, there is beauty. There is love—deep, imperfect, real love.
That’s why I make family films. So that my son can always feel my love, hear my voice, and remember the life we shared. And I want to give your children that same experience—because love is the foundation of who we are. It shapes us, holds us, and connects us.
